Pepper Dombroski, Director of Sales & Marketing at Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows, brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience spanning luxury resorts, conference services, catering, and sales leadership. Her career has taken her from vibrant city destinations like New York to renowned resort communities including Jackson Hole, Wyoming, always with a focus on creating meaningful guest experiences and lasting memories.
Pepper’s connection to Maui runs deep. From 2003 to 2013, she worked at Grand Wailea while raising her family on the island, making her return to Maui especially meaningful. Her impressive hospitality background also includes roles at The Broadmoor and Rancho Bernardo Inn. Known for her approachable leadership style and passion for hospitality, Pepper is dedicated to building strong relationships and delivering exceptional experiences for guests, clients, and partners alike.
Outside of work, Pepper enjoys gardening, kayaking, hiking, and spending time with her three children. Her adventurous spirit recently led her to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro earlier this year. She is thrilled to be back home on Maui and part of the Royal Lahaina ‘Ohana.
Amy Johnston, the Director of Catering at Royal Lahaina Resort, brings over a decade of experience to this stunning property. Since beginning her career in 2006, Dawntavia has built a reputation for cultivating meaningful client relationships and creating seamless group experiences tailored to each guest’s unique needs. Her journey through the industry, from Sales Coordinator to Area Sales Manager, reflects both her dedication and deep understanding of group sales across multiple resort properties.

Rebecca Korn, Director of Leisure Sales at Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows, brings more than 30 years of hospitality and travel industry experience to the team. Throughout her distinguished career with Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Marriott, she developed and led successful leisure and business travel sales programs across multiple properties, earning a reputation for building strong client relationships and delivering exceptional results.
Known for her collaborative approach and strategic mindset, Rebecca is passionate about connecting travelers with memorable destination experiences. Most recently, she played an instrumental role in driving business development for a leading catering company in San Diego, helping grow its customer base and contribute to a record-setting year.
Based in San Diego, Rebecca focuses on expanding key leisure travel partnerships and increasing awareness of Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows across important West Coast markets. Her extensive industry knowledge, dedication to client success, and genuine enthusiasm for hospitality make her a valued resource for travel advisors and partners alike.
Jayson Asuncion is the Executive Chef of Royal Lahaina Resort. He is a native of Maui and is from Lahaina. He developed his passion for cooking as a child helping his father in the kitchen.
Asuncion trained at Western Culinary Institute in Portland, Oregon and has over 20 years of experience on the West Coast and Maui. He had the opportunity to work at Citrus in Los Angeles, opening team of Spago Maui, Banyan Tree Ritz Carlton Kapalua, Molly’s Restaurant San Diego and Bonavista at Westin Bonaventure Hotel.
Jayson Asuncion is also the co-founder of the Aloha Braised food truck, which serves tasty local delicacies. Outside of the kitchen Asuncion enjoys surfing and playing his ukulele, where he gains profound inspiration.
He enjoys a great steak, foie gras and once ate 82 oysters at an oyster eating contest!
